Oris Aquis Date 43.5mm

Oris introduced the latest edition of the Aquis Date in the summer of 2017. They are easy to spot thanks to the “Aquis” inscription on the dial. The manufacturer decided to stick with stainless steel for the case of this diving watch, though it is larger than previous models at 43.5 mm.
If you head over to Oris’s website, you’ll see how wide the Aquis line has become with literally dozens of models from diamante ladies pieces to titanium-forged 500m WR depth-gauge models. Today we’re looking at what is undoubtedly Oris’s top-seller within the line – the 43.5mm Aquis Date in Black.
The original Oris Aquis Date was actually half a millimeter smaller (at 43mm) in width than this one that is 43.5mm wide (47mm with the crown), but it seemed to wear larger in my experience. How is that possible? It starts with some simplification and toning back of the angular lugs and crown guards that help the overall design simply flow better.
The first of the pair, the 41.5mm Aquis, is likely to have a serious impact on Oris’ dive watches in the coming years. For those unfamiliar, the Aquis has been produced up to this point in two separate case styles: the 43.5mm original, and the 39.5mm midsize offering.
